So it’s been a while since I posted a piece so here ya go! This is the largest mountain in Japan I’ve climbed this mountain several times and cannot begin to tell you how beautiful this place is. So instead I attempted to capture it in a painting done as one of my Japanese collections.

Bell Tower Alley

Unfortunately, there has been some controversy regarding the use of a character that I used for reference in this painting. So I have taken it down to repaint another person in it's place. This image will be back up in a few days. The revised image is even better than the first. I guess things happen for a reason. The image to come, will be of my second piece in my Frederick series (After Church St. below). With so many historic back alley ways and and steeples around town, it didn't take me long to combine the two! Please keep an eye out for more to come.

My friend Emily has this remarkable quality about her that just screams "EUROPEAN ROYALTY", or something of the sort:) Anyway every time I saw her I just wanted to do a piece based on the traditional style of portraits. Kinda like the ones you would find in the Smithsonian you know? (Although I am no way as good as the greats!) Anyway I had fun painting this one, and I hope that Emily is pleased with the outcome.

Angkor Wat Moon

For those of you not familiar with Angkor Wat, it is a region of Cambodia that served as the seat of the Khmer empire, which flourished from approximately the ninth century to the thirteenth century. The word "Angkor" is derived from Sanskrit nagara, meaning "city." The Angkorian period began in AD 802, when the Khmer Hindu monarch declared themselves a "universal monarch" and "god-kings", until 1431, when Ayutthayen (Thai) invaders sacked the Khmer capital, causing its population to migrate south to the area of Phnom Penh. The ruins of Angkor are located amid forests and farmland to the north of the Great Lake (Tonle Sap) and south of the Kulen Hills, near modern daySiem Reap, and are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temples of the Angkor area number over one thousand, ranging in scale from nondescript piles of brick rubble scattered through rice fields to the magnificent Angkor Wat, said to be the world's largest single religious monument. Many of the temples at Angkor have been restored, and together they comprise the most significant site of Khmer architecture. (Source Wikipidia)

Upon one of my journeys I remember the setting moon against a darkening landscape and attempted to recreate this great memory in this piece. Now displayed at the Moxie Cafe in Frederick, MD, 629 North Market St.

Koi to me are very beautiful fish. I couldn't help but do a piece on them. I used the Japanese fisherman concept from images I had of the Japanese while living there. I hope like it.

Mermaid Metamorphosis

I had originally thought of using this pose for another concept but as I kept painting I remembered that I wanted to do a piece on a Mermaid. So, I continued to allow this piece to metamorphosize (if you will) into a mermaid. Plus I know Dara wants to be a Mermaid when she grows up :)

I had been thinking of circles for days on end for some reason, and like most times when I get an idea stuck in my head I feel the need to paint it!! So, I came up with a Retro-Theme, using Dara's face as a Go-Go Girl with and Austin Powers twist. Hope you like this one!!

So for the last few days I've been working on a piece for my Sister in Cali, So I hadn't posted anything for a while. So, now that I'm finished with her piece I had to jump into another. Thought I'd go with black and white for a change. This helped me break into a new thought pattern. When I spend a lot of time on one piece it seems to draw my mind into only that. Hope you like it.

So I was walking down the street the other day and saw this feather on the ground. I thought it might be cool to paint a portrait of a Native American Indian to appreciate this as one of the bloods I am mixed with. And so I added the found feather to the piece as well.

Latest Fallen Angel pc. Although I think I have drawn figures better than this, I kept this one in my line up to remind myself of shading techniques. This one was particularly difficult dealing with a busy wing element against a dark and two toned background. Hope you like it :)

By now I'm pretty happy with my progress as an artist so I decided after pouting around about it to do something in color. So, Dara encouraged me to try another medium. I chose acrylic. This was my first acrylic portrait. Dara's face is a hard testing ground, pretty people are hard to get right. Acrylic on canvas.

This one was really fun to do. Being that I like the female rear end, this was all fun! :) But really, as I started to get more familiar with the strokes from the pen I could clearly see an improvement in my work. Another close friend of mine offered to buy this one and another wants it as a tattoo on her back!!

Starting to feel a bit closer to the grittiness I thought I'd go more monster on my theme and went with the Zombie!! This actually ended up as a tattoo on my Dad's arm!!! Always nice to know that people like your craft enough to make it permanent. Thanks Pop!! I'll be with ya forever now :)
